Mountain Ash Flooring is currently a family run business based in the town of Mountain Ash which is located 15 miles north of Cardiff the capital city of Wales, the homestead of the business owners. The business is run by a selection of multi talented and intensively trained professionals backed up by the strongest manufacturers and distributors the flooring trade has to offer.
Over the course of 25 years the "business" has changed somewhat from the pioneering days of Carpets 2000 during the mid 80s which was renowned for its exceptional service innovative ideas and low price of goods. Carpets 2000 was owned by Martin Davies the father of Nathan Davies the current owner of Mountain Ash Flooring.
Carpets 2000 operated a pricing policy to the public that on several occasions was close to wholesale margins and for a while the business thrived. Unfortunately due to the relative size of the local market and the expense and quality of marketing during that time the business could not generate enough turn over to make sufficient profit. The company was relatively unknown in the larger areas of Cardiff, Swansea and Newport but if it was then surely the outcome would have been quite different. The company for example was selling Cord Carpet for £1.50 per sq yard however people in the metropolis were paying £1.99 sq yard and similar price differences were on the company's other goods. What the company was trying to do was genuinely the worlds worst kept secret as far as the flooring trade is concerned.
