Meet The Tutors
Bushcraft Ed is our enthusiastic and incredibly knowledgeable bush craft teacher. Currently the Cwmaman group he takes is the first and only accredited bushcraft group in the uk!

Ed has honed his skills for many years in such out of the way places as Indian fishing villages, the jungle and the desert. Be prepared to learn stuff like tracking, foraging, making shelters, cooking over a fire. Something that everyone should try, at least once!
The Bushcraft sessions are every day from 6pm - 8pm and are for everyone. Persons under 14 should be accompanied by an adult. Don't forget to wear walking shoes.

Women and Health/Yoga Giulia is an enthusiastic new resident of Cwmaman. She is a qualified teacher of yoga with a particular interest in yoga for children and has a long background in healthy living. A parent herself, Giulia is passionate about natural health for women and their families and the importance of taking control of our own health.

During Healthy Living Week Giulia will be doing sessions in young children's yoga, yoga for arthritis, sport yoga for the energetic and relaxation for everyone (Don't forget to take a blanket). Also the Women and Health session on Monday will launch the 8 week accredited course on Women & Health starting Monday 30th May in the Canolfan Building.

Making Changes for Health A type of Life coaching for people who are feeling stuck in their lives. Melody is possibly the most highly qualified therapist you could wish to meet! Melody's two sessions run together one at the beginning of the week and the other at the end.
She says:
· "Do you feel stuck?
· Is their a project or interest you would like to pursue but don't know how to start?
· Would you like to develop a healthier and happier lifestyle?

Attend these two sessions and start to make a difference in your life. We will work together to help you to begin identifying what you would like from your life and make the necessary changes to achieve this. Bring a willingness to make a difference and have some fun!"

Fusion Belly Dance A wacky fun and lighthearted session given by a very wacky and fun tutor. She says: "Let's find vitality, femininity, sensuality and the goddess in us (yes, we have got one!! )" Sophira is definitely the most popular and successful belly dance teacher around and you will soon find out why. Definitely not to be missed. Wear long flowing skirt or jog pants and a comfy top. Oh yes, bare feet and water too. Ages 16 - 116!

Nutrition and Massage Cara is an enthusiastic, passionate yet realistic qualified nutritionist and masseuse. She teaches a brilliant session on basic food facts and how to cook quick nutritious meals for all the family. Watch out for her 10 minute stressbuster session straight after where she can help you to "enliven your spirit in just 10 minutes!"

Walking the Way to Health The Walking the Way to Health Group meets every Thursday outside St Joseph's Church. We cover walks for a range of fitness, both locally and travelling further afield by bus in volunteer's cars.

Did you know that walking has the following benefits?:
· Reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke, becoming overweight, high blood pressure, certain cancers, especially bowel cancer, osteoporosis and arthritis
· Gives you more energy, improves your mood, increases confidence and stamina
· Reduces stress and helps you to relax and sleep better

Older Men, Women and Health Ron Wakefield has a whole lifetime of health interest. He is a man who walks the talk of healthy living daily and is likely to be the fittest person you will come across in a long while. His expertise lies in understanding and teaching about the
· benefits of exercise,
· walking,
· nutrition,
· relaxation techniques,
· positive thinking
· ways of raising the spirits using music and movement to keep mentally healthy. Ron says, " if you want to know how to feel fitter and be healthier, just turn up to the session and take away with you some techniques to begin some changes!."


JUST* Just* is a party Plan Herbal Health and Well-Being Company. They are in Cwmaman on Tuesday morning and Thursday evening. Turn up for free facials, massage, etec and learn how herbal preparations can help common health problems. Looks like a great pampery session. Not just for women. You could book them up for your own party event, but don't forget, you don't have to buy any of their products!

Yoga with Sue Sue is Communities First Health Promotion Worker. She has 13 years of yoga teaching experience. Come along at 9.30 on Tuesday morning for a yoga workout. Don't worry if you have never been before. Or the Deep Relaxation session at 2pm on Thursday. You won't forget this session in a hurry! Don't forget to take a blanket, mat if you have one and even a cushion.

4 Big Health Reasons Not to Eat Meat The founder of VIVA, the National Vegetarian Society of Britain is Juliet Golightly. Sue at Communities First is very proud of herself to have arranged for Juliet to come to Cwmaman to give one of her talks on the Health Benefits of not eating meat. Juliet's talk and presentation will be at 7.30 in the Concert Room of the Institute on Thursday evening . Refreshments available.

Buddhism for Daily Living Amazingly enough, Cwmaman has a long history and links with Buddhism. Steve Harris has been a practising member of Nichirin Daishonin Buddhism for many years and will talk about the health benefits of a daily Buddhist practice. Suitable for adults and people over 14 years of age.
